Democracy depends on informed and active participation of citizens in government.

Every election season, the League of Women Voters of Larimer County invites the public to become more informed about the election by attending our nonpartisan candidate forums and ballot issues presentations.

Our candidate forums give voters the opportunity to hear directly from local and statewide candidates.

Our ballot issues presentations give voters the opportunity to ask questions about issues that will be on their ballot.

The decisions we make as voters will affect issues such as the economy, health care, education, the environment, and security for generations to come. Attending or watching a League-hosted candidate forum or ballot issues presentation is one of the best ways to become informed on the candidates and issues before casting your ballot.

Interested in learning more about upcoming ballot issues?

Our ballot issue presentations provide nonpartisan information about measures that will appear on the ballot, helping voters better understand what they're being asked to vote on and the potential impacts of those decisions.Presentations can be scheduled for community groups, civic organizations, neighborhood associations, service clubs, workplaces, and other interested groups.

What to Expect

Presentations typically:

  • Provide an overview of ballot measures that will appear on the upcoming election ballot.
  • Can be tailored to focus on statewide Colorado ballot issues, Larimer County ballot issues, or a combination of both.
  • Provide background information on each ballot measure, summarize its key provisions, and explain what a "yes" vote and a "no" vote would mean.
  • Discuss potential fiscal and policy impacts when applicable.
  • Include time for questions and discussion.
  • Last approximately 30-60 minutes, depending on the number of ballot issues covered and audience questions.

Presentation Requirements

To help us make the best use of our volunteers' time, we ask that groups include at least 10 interested attendees and that requests are submitted during our ballot issue request window and ballot issue presentation season.

Please note that presentation availability depends on presenter schedules and demand. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, submission of a request does not guarantee a presentation.

To request a ballot issue presentation, please complete the form below. A member of our team will review your request and contact you regarding availability and scheduling.
