Women’s Equality Day Celebration Silent Auction

We are seeking donations from teams, small groups, and individual members for our Silent Auction.

Items that perform best are typically experience-based, such as event tickets, vacation stays, or opportunities to connect with local officials or community figures. Items that tend to be less popular are second-hand goods.

Whenever possible, we encourage donations sourced from local businesses rather than personally purchased items.

To help spark ideas, here are a few popular options:

  • Vacation home or getaway stays
  • Gift certificates to local restaurants or BBQ spots
  • Coffee or lunch with local officials (e.g., Larimer County Commissioners, Mayors of Fort Collins or Loveland) or community figures
  • Lottery ticket basket ($50–$100 value)
  • Spa or self-care baskets
  • Wine tastings
  • Brewery tours or gift cards
  • “Date night” themed basket
  • Cooking class for 2 or 4
  • Bakery or coffee shop gift certificates
  • Sports ticket packages (e.g., Colorado RockiesDenver Nuggets)

Submit your silent auction donations by May 15th by filling out this form. We kindly ask that items be delivered to Julie (or pickup arranged) by June 20. Once items are received, they will be prepared for inclusion in the Silent Auction.

The First Women's Equality Day

In 1971, Representative Bella Abzug (D-NY) successfully introduced a bill designating August 26th of each year as Women’s Equality Day.

The bill states that Women’s Equality Day is a symbol of women’s continued fight for equal rights and that the United States commends and supports them. It decreed that the President is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation annually in commemoration of woman suffrage and the 1970 Strike for Equality.
