Tracy Kidder has been described by The Baltimore Sun as “a master of the nonfiction narrative.” In Rough Sleepers, Kidder tells the story of Dr. Jim O’Connell, a gifted man who invented a community of care for a city’s unhoused population, including those who sleep on the streets—the “rough sleepers.”

As our country continues to struggle with finding sustainable solutions to a looming healthcare crisis, the Health Care Team is hard at work advocating for ideas that work.
Please come to the May meeting of the Pollinator Habitat Group! We will discuss Colorado pollinator legislation, give an update on our participation in the City of Fort Collins Xeriscape Garden Party & free native plant swap, plan for summer field trips, and discuss a proposal for the Hughes Stadium site to include an environmental education center and raptor rescue facility.

On May 15 (Wednesday), from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the South Larimer Discussion Group will present a discussion of Local News. Our guests will be editors from our local newspapers in south Larimer County, including John Vahlenkamp (Senior Editor, Loveland Reporter-Herald) and Becky Justice-Hemmann (Publisher of the Berthoud Weekly Surveyor). We will talk about the current state and future of local news and the newspapers’ policies on misinformation and disinformation. There will be time for audience questions. Please register on the calendar to receive the Zoom link for the meeting. This meeting is open to the public, so please share this information when you invite your friends and neighbors to join in the conversation.
